BIOGRAPHY OF MRS FAVOUR AMOGU (PhD In view)
Nnennaya Orie Ukaha was born on the 29th day of July 1967 into the devout Christian family of Elder and Elder Mrs. Ukaha Aso Ukaha of Ndi Anya compound, Asaga-Ohafia. Her illustrious parents of blessed memory, were resident civil servants in the Eastern Nigerian town of Abakaliki shortly before the onset of the Biafra civil war. The arrival of this beautiful carbon-copy of her mother, after four boys, brought a lot of joy and gladness into the family.
This happiness was shortlived as the family soon fled from the hostilities and relocated with their young children to their Ohafia hometown. Shortly after the war, she tagged along with her mother, a school teacher, which made her start her formal education very early. She attended all the primary schools where her mother was the Headmistress thus; Govt Primary School Afikpo, Arochukwu Town School and Central School Amaokpara, Nkwerri where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate and passed the Common Entrance Examinations excellently in 1978.
Nnennaya attended St. Catherines Girls’ Secondary School, Nkwerri from 1978 to 1983 and cleared her WASC papers at a sitting. This was a rare feat in those days and she gained admission into the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu (1984-1986) where she obtained a National Diploma in Banking and Finance. After her Industrial Attachment with Cooperative and Commerce Bank (CCB), she was retained due to her hard work and diligence and posted to Ogui Road branch Enugu, where she worked until she got married to Hon. Uma Kalu Amogu(JK) on 28th December 1991.
The marriage was later blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Precious. Marriage changed her name to Mrs Favour Amogu and she relocated with her husband to Lagos where she continued her banking career until CCB became distressed. As a highly talented and skilled young lady, Favour ventured into fashion designing with a lot of passion.
She opened a classic fashion business; Favourite Fashions & Hats at Okota roundabout where she carved a market niche for herself by creating unique sinamay hat designs, fascinator styles, beaded necklaces, ready-made headties etc. A veritable Fashionista, Favour was a walking model of her various designs. She was a go-getter who worked towards obtaining whatever she desired in life.
In pursuit of academic excellence, Favour enrolled for a degree program in Business Administration at Lagos State University (LASU) where she graduated in flying colours. She gained admission into University of Lagos (UniLag) in 2010/2011 and obtained her Masters degree ( MSc) in Business Management.
On relocation to join her husband at Umuahia, Favour worked towards re-establishing her Favourite Creations Fashion business. Her quest for further studies was rekindled when she enrolled for a Doctorate degree program at the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike in 2016/2017. She was very passionate about the PhD program and was getting ready to defend her already completed project thesis before her sudden untimely demise.
Deaconess Favour Amogu was a staff of Umuahia North Local Government, Abia State. She belonged to Adinti Age Grade of Asaga Ohafia and the Umuokaa matrilineal kindred. A born leader, ever willing to serve, she was a general head-girl in primary school, a Prefect in secondary school, a Course Rep in the University, President Asaga Development Union (Women’s Wing) Umuahia Branch, Deaconess, Prayer warrior, Church worker and Woman Leader in all the Churches where she worshipped.
Elegant cerebral beauty, with humble friendly smiles, Favour was the cynosure of all eyes. It is unbelievable that death can suddenly snatch Favour away from us at her prime, but we are consoled that she died as a child of God. We will surely miss this perfect Adanne of the Ukaha siblings, our event planner and organizer, loving wife of Uma JK, unequalled mother of her Precious daughter, extra-ordinary Grandma of all her nieces and nephews, best friend of all her numerous friends, darling of her sisters and Aunties.
Even in death, you are still our Favourite Favour. You will forever live in our hearts. May your beautiful soul rest in peace.
FAVOUR LIVES ON IN OUR HEARTS.
